exciting group of musicians offer an innovative blend of Jazz,
Blues, Ska, Reggae, Calypso, Afro-Cuban, and Middle Eastern
music. Fusing these varied genres has proven to create a refreshing
mixture of music that has both the complexities of Jazz and
the dancability of Reggae and Ska. Music lovers of all ages
and musical tastes enjoy the melodic and rhythmic approach
that this unique ensemble has to offer. Due to the organic
nature of their music, a live performance is the best setting
to experience the interaction within the group and feel their
artistic intensity. It is a site to see."
Full Spectrum is comprised of musicians of
all musical backgrounds and tastes: each member bringing different
influences and approaches to the table. Fritz Madden is quite
experienced in Jazz, Ska, Reggae, Rock, Funk, as well as Afro-Cuban
music. He has performed in the LA area for a number of years
in all of these musical styles. Bobby Cressey, originally
Classically trained, is well versed in the Jazz, Classical,
and Latin idioms. His tasteful comping and soloing are a true
asset to the ensembles overall sound. Emmanuel Morgan lays
down the groove with his solid bass lines. He has studied
as well as performed all of these different musical styles
for a number of years giving an energetic yet mature feel
to the music. David Sills, a seasoned Jazz artist, offers
the group a beautiful tone and an amazing technical mastery
over his instrument. Davids saxophone playing can be heard
regularly on KKJZ 88.1 FM with recordings from a number of
highly acclaimed Jazz groups. Eitan Avineri on flugelhorn
and trumpet has been a freelance trumpet player for the last
ten years performing and recording Salsa, Jazz, Flamenco,
Ska, Reggae, Blues, as well as traditional Cuban music. Chris
Stoefen, an extremely talented trombone player, has performed
and recorded extensively in the San Diego and Los Angeles
areas. Chris adds a rich, full sound to the Full Spectrum
horn section. Last but definitely not least, Steve Groneberg,
an extremely accomplished Jazz guitarist, is a beautiful soloist
and composer. With an advanced degree in Jazz guitar, Steve
brings excellence and experience to this unique Jamaican Jazz
ensemble.
